The Zarephath Academy Eagles will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Warner Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 15th. Zarephath Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Zarephath Academy fought the good fight in their overtime game against BOLCA Prep last Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 69-66. While losing is never fun, Zarephath Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 730th, while BOLCA Prep is ranked 212th).
Warner Christian Academy posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They breezed by Burns Sci-Tech at home to the tune of 56-21. The victory was just what Warner Christian Academy needed coming off of a 70-35 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warner Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Nicholas, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Nicholas is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Flores, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Zarephath Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Warner Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
