It was a good run, but the Roxborough Wolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 75-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Benjamin Franklin. Roxborough was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Benjamin Franklin apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
Despite the loss, Roxborough still got an impressive performance from Stefan Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Phillips has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shane Bennett, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Benjamin Franklin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kneco Hill out in front who scored 29 points. Hill is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Soukare Fane was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five assists.
Roxborough's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Benjamin Franklin, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Roxborough won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bodine at 3:15 p.m. on January 26th. Bodine is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Benjamin Franklin, they will take on Paul Robeson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Paul Robeson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while Benjamin Franklin is ranked 205th).
