Football Recap: Stagg Piles Up the Points Against Weston Ranch

Stagg waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 56-7 win over the Weston Ranch Cougars. With the Delta Kings ahead 49-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Leading Stagg to victory were Alex Hinojosa and Darnell Holmes. Hinojosa threw for 273 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, while Holmes rushed for 154 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Holmes is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. A healthy portion of Hinojosa's aerial production (92 yards to be exact) went to Lance Martin, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Stagg's run defense was locked in: Weston Ranch could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Michael Gonzales for the heroic effort on defense: he. Stagg didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.
