For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Northmont and Springboro have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Thunderbolts have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Jadyn Johnson (2026) was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Audrey Brown (2029) was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Fairmont's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Northmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Fairmont hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Northmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
