Atrisco Heritage Academy took down Albuquerque 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nathaniel Goode threw for 37 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 26 yards in the win.
The Jaguars led 5A District 5 in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on the Bulldogs. Goode in the win.
Pedro Trujillo was the best wideout in the league this week as West Mesa lost to Valley. Trujillo racked up four receptions for 82 yards. Romolo Salazar helped West Mesa's passing attack out by catching three balls for 55 yards.
Dominic Tarango made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Vikings defeated the Mustangs. The 5-foot-10 junior forced one fumble and recorded one fumble.
Bo Coleman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Valley bested West Mesa. He completed three passes for 105 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 150 yards. Coleman's favorite target this week was Robert Armijo, who caught one pass for 55 yards.
Esteban Loera was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 164 yards on 18 carries as Enrico Marcelli's team fell to Enrico Marcelli's team.
6-foot-0 quarterback Coleman of the Vikings is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1376. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. On the ground, Atrisco Heritage Academy's Ricci Alvidrez has rushed for 958 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Salazar. The West Mesa star has 46 catches for 603 yards.
Alvidrez of the Patrick Johnson's team is only 42 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Hornets take on the Jaguars. Highland is currently in third, while Atrisco Heritage Academy is in first.
Derek Maestas' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,388 from 8,874. The advance stemmed from a 43-21 victory over Rio Grande last week.
