The Monacan Chiefs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Huguenot, falling 41-6. While losing is never fun, Monacan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Huguenot is ranked 83rd).
Huguenot's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jason Wright, who threw for 300 yards while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of John Washington, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Monacan's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Huguenot, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Monacan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Huguenot will be playing in front of their home fans against Powhatan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Powhatan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
