The Heartland Huskies were the 50-39 winner over the Fairbury Jeffs when they last played one another back in January of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Heartland took a 37-20 bruising from Fairbury on Thursday.
Despite the loss, Heartland still got an impressive performance from Jamisen Klein, who scored 7 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairbury to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izzy Ohlde, who scored 13 points along with 6 steals. Eliza Kroeker was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 10 rebounds.
Heartland's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Fairbury, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Heartland won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wilber-Clatonia at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Fairbury, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fillmore Central at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
