Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Patriots vs. Ridgevue Warhawks

The Centennial Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Ridgevue Warhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Centennial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Centennial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Eagle, who was ranked 21st at the time (Centennial was ranked 11th). Centennial breezed by Eagle to the tune of 75-26 on Friday. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 28 points or more this season.

Centennial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Eddins, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 22 points. The game was Eddins' 11th in a row with at least ten points. Payton Knudson was another key player, going 6 for 14 on his way to 21 points.

Meanwhile, Ridgevue was able to grind out a solid win over Meridian on Friday, taking the game 52-41.

Ridgevue's win came from a few key players Centennial will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Javonte Boles, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Tiddens, who put up 13 points.

Centennial's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.8 points. As for Ridgevue, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Centennial and Ridgevue are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Centennial hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 75.5 points per game. However, it's not like Ridgevue struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.3 points.
