The Heritage Hills Patriots had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Southridge 23-20. That's another feather in the cap for Heritage Hills, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Heritage Hills found their leader in underclassman Jett Goldsberry, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.
Although Southridge took the loss, they still got scores from O?Ryan Curry, Yamil Arroyo, and Noah Wright.
Heritage Hills' victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Southridge, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
Heritage Hills will head out on the road to face off against Scottsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Scottsburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Heritage Hills is ranked 41st). Southridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
