The Central Dauphin Rams will square off against the State College Little Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
State College will be up against a hot Central Dauphin squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Rams' pitchers stepped up to hand Penn Manor a 7-0 shutout on Saturday. Seven seems to be a good number for the Rams as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Central Dauphin got a great performance from Evan Londono as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. Londono has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Timmy Parker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Sean Demartino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Central Dauphin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask State College). They put the hurt on Punxsutawney with a sharp 15-5 victory on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Little Lions with their most commanding win of the season.
Ben Gracie-Griffin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of State College's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Gracie-Griffin was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alex Ruocco was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryden Walker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
Central Dauphin's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for State College, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Central Dauphin's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for State College, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Central Dauphin continue to outrun the ball?
Central Dauphin couldn't quite finish off State College in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 7-5. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
