It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Beckville had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Detroit Eagles as they made off with a 14-2 victory. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 23 matches by six runs or more this season.
Emily Grandgeorge and Hannah Rogers were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Grandgeorge pitched two innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Rogers pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grandgeorge has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. At bat, Grandgeorge went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Rogers went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Rogers has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Kalee Cameron was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Mauritzen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
The win (which was Beckville's 17th in a row) raised their record to 25-7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Detroit, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-6.
As of now, neither Beckville nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
