The Norco Cougars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Chaparral 17-13. While losing is never fun, Norco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Chaparral is ranked 32nd).
Dash Beierly was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 41 yards and two touchdowns.
Norco's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Chaparral, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norco will take on Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Norco likes a good challenge.
