The Commerce Tigers lost against the Rabun County Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Commerce took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rabun County. Commerce has not had much luck with Rabun County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jada Palumbo, who scored eight points along with four steals. Palumbo hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Jayla Collins was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Rabun County, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Commerce won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tallulah Falls at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. As for Rabun County, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Prince Avenue Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Prince Avenue Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Rabun County is ranked 51st).
