Granada found their leader in sophomore Sebastian Pizarro, who rushed for 225 yards and four scores on only 15 carries. Granada is 5-1 when Pizarro posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Alejandro Perez also helped with two TDs in total.
Despite the loss, Bethune had strong showings from Ismael Perla, who rushed for 210 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and Angel Millan, who gained 169 total yards and three touchdowns. Perla's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 142 rushing yards.
Granada's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points over those games. As for Bethune, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Looking ahead, Granada is taking a road trip to challenge Sierra Grande at 12:00 p.m. on the 8th. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. Bethune does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
