The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Joshua by a score of 50-40. Given Midlothian Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Joshua is ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midlothian Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Batty, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Batty has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ivy Preusser, who scored 14 points.
Midlothian Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season. As for Joshua, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-17.
