After two games on the road, Easton Area is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Freedom Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Tuesday, Easton Area came up short against Stroudsburg and fell 43-36.
The losing side was boosted by Ryan Cornish, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Grimmer, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Freedom's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pocono Mountain East. While losing is never fun, Freedom can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Pocono Mountain East is ranked 39th).
Easton Area now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Easton Area was taken down by Freedom 63-33 in their previous meeting back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Easton Area was down 37-11.
