Leading Cape Fear Academy to victory were Angelo Vega and Isaiah Gibson. Vega scored 11 points along with six rebounds, while Gibson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Luke Fascher was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, John Paul II Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Knight scored 12 points.
