The Williamson Marauders were the 61-49 winner over the Gananda Central Blue Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Williamson had to suffer through a rough 69-42 loss at the hands of Gananda Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Williamson has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gananda Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Grassel, who scored 20 points. The game was Grassel's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Caviness, who scored 20 points.
Williamson's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Gananda Central, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lyons at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. One thing working in Lyons' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Gananda Central will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Caledonia-Mumford at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Nathan Doll and Caviness.
