Cumberland Valley waltzed into their game Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They skirted past Chambersburg 56-53.
Cumberland Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Creston Austin, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Austin has scored at least 25% of Cumberland Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Buzalka, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, State College strolled past Harrisburg with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 58-44.
Reed Melvin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Nate Price, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Cumberland Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for State College, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
