The West Lafayette Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Twin Lakes Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. West Lafayette knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Twin Lakes likes a good challenge.
West Lafayette pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-64 to Danville. While losing is never fun, West Lafayette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Danville is ranked 31st).
Meanwhile, Twin Lakes entered their tilt with North Newton with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Twin Lakes enjoyed a cozy 64-48 win over North Newton two weeks ago.
Jamison Ousley was his usual excellent self, scoring 36 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Businger, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
West Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Twin Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
West Lafayette came up short against Twin Lakes in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 64-59. Can West Lafayette avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
