Basketball Recap: Lockwood Has No Trouble Against Hurley

It's playoff time, and Lockwood had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past Hurley 56-35 on Tuesday. Lockwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Hurley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Conrad, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. Conrad is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaema Schimmels, who put up 13 points.

The win made it two in a row for Lockwood and bumps their season record up to 15-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points on average over those games. As for Hurley, they moved to 19-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lockwood Tigers take on Chadwick Cardinals on Saturday. Chadwick will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Lockwood surely won't give up without a fight. Hurley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
