Doane Academy strolled into their game  on Friday with a perfect  record and they left with the same. They blew past the Riverside Rams 12-3. Considering Doane Academy has won five games by more than eight  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Jacob Powell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  struck out 12 batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Powell was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 5-for-5.
 In other batting news, Doane Academy got a  massive  performance out of  Will Tschumy, who  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Tschumy is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last three games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Matt Kulyk, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Doane Academy  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least nine  hits in three consecutive  matchups.
Doane Academy's win was  their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 8-0. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average this season. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
