Eldorado is 0-4 against Cheyenne since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eldorado Sundevils will be playing at home against the Cheyenne Desert Shields at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-13, which was the final score in Eldorado's tilt against Valley on Friday. Eldorado has not had much luck with Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Eldorado got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Yasmine Wheeler and
Elisa Flores, who each put up three points.
Meanwhile, Cheyenne's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Desert Pines, falling 63-7. Cheyenne was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.
Desert Pines' victory bumped their season record to 2-0 while Eldorado's defeat dropped theirs to 0-1.
Eldorado and Cheyenne were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, but Eldorado came up empty-handed after a 41-40 loss. Can Eldorado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
