The Traders Point Christian Knights's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Columbus Christian by a score of 53-46. Traders Point Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Traders Point Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kameron Reese, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six steals. That's the first time this season that Reese scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Quentin Jones, who scored 13 points.
Columbus Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Branson Carr, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Carr scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Walden, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Columbus Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Traders Point Christian only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Traders Point Christian's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Columbus Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Traders Point Christian will play host again and welcome Indiana Math & Science Academy North, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Indiana Math & Science Academy North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday. As for Columbus Christian, they will take on Medora at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Medora is ranked 432nd, while Columbus Christian is ranked 408th).
