North Bergen gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on Bloomfield with a sharp 39-12 win. North Bergen have a history of success against Bloomfield, winning their last head-to-head 39-12.
North Bergen's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 25 points in the first half. Bloomfield came up with 6 to make it 25-6 heading into the break. The North Bergen defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game. The victory bumped their record up to 1-0. The loss dropped Bloomfield back to even at 1-1.
North Bergen will stay at home next week against Kearny at 7:00 PM. Bloomfield will be staying on the road, facing off against Columbia.
