The Fort Elliott Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. Their tough 73-51 loss to Follett might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Elliott in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.
Maddox Miller was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists for Follett. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was David Meeks, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Fort Elliott has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Follett, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Fort Elliott will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. As for Follett, they will head out on the road to challenge the at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Darrouzett comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
