Dierre Hill Jr. led
Althoff Catholic (Belleville) to the Class 1A state title in Illinois on Saturday with a performance that won't be forgotten anytime soon.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound senior running back led a 57-14 thrashing of Lena-Winslow (Lena) by rushing 32 times for 438 yards and six touchdowns, adding an 80-yard TD reception as well to finish with 518 total yards and seven scores.
Hill's 443 rushing yards were a 1A championship game record and helped Althoff Catholic cap a 14-0 season.

Last week in a 58-19 semifinal win over Camp Point Central (Camp Point), Hill piled up 318 yards and five touchdowns on the ground on just 13 carries.
For the season Hill has 2,588 yards and 40 touchdowns in the run game, plus nearly 400 more and six scores catching the ball. He has over 5,000 all-purpose yards and 76 TDs over the past two seasons.
Committed to Oregon, Hill is regarded as one of the top 20 running back prospects in the Class of 2025 by
247Sports.
