The Santa Maria Cougars will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Agua Dulce Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Santa Maria: they have been struggling with nine straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Longhorns have snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Agua Dulce proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 27) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Kaufer 31-29.
Agua Dulce's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyssa Vinton led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Vinton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Deaver, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Santa Maria's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Agua Dulce, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
