Division II-AA recap October 8, 2013
Brentwood Academy was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from ninth to sixth in Division II-AA. The Eagles vanquished Pope John Paul II 57-6 earlier in the week.
Ensworth added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Montgomery Bell Academy, 35-21. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
PJ Settles threw for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 7-12 with 0 interceptions.
Colton Neel was the best running back in the league this week. In 28 carries, he ran for 170 yards as Memphis University beat the Big Red.
Thanks to the talents of Settles and D'Andre Ferby, Ricky Bowers' team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Settles is tops in the league in passing with 772 yards, while Ferby has rushed for 951 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Owls' Devin Perry, with 460 yards on 27 catches.
The marquee game in Division II-AA this week will be the clash between Brentwood Academy and McCallie. Cody White's team comes into the matchup ranked ninth in the state, while the Blue Tornado ranks 13th.
In 168 carries Connor Harris has accumulated 912 yard this year.
The Knights fell to the Eagles 57-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
