Leading Marie Philip to victory were Jeremy Novas and Xavier DeLeon. Novas dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while DeLeon scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Riebe, who scored 9 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.
Marie Philip's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for New York School for the Deaf, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Marie Philip will face off against Lexington School for the Deaf at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New York School for the Deaf, they will head out on the road to face off against American School for the Deaf at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
