The Larue County Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Taylor County 74-50. For Larue County, this counts as revenge for the 61-59 loss Taylor County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Daniel Allen, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Larue County's points. Landon Blakey was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Larue County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points per game. As for Taylor County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Larue County will face off against Glasgow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Taylor County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evangel Christian on January 7th. Evangel Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Taylor County likes a good challenge.
