The Lawson Cardinals waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 39-33 victory over Cameron. This was payback for Lawson, who suffered a 35-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Cameron lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eme Teel, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Teel has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Robinson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Lawson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Cameron, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Lawson will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. Cameron will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Excelsior Springs at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Excelsior Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Cameron is ranked 130th).
