Basketball Game Preview: Coral Reef Barracudas vs. TERRA Environmental

Two dominant guards in Gianmarco Altare and Mateo Baron are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Coral Reef Barracudas will be playing at home against TERRA Environmental at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Reef is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Coral Reef earned a 51-39 win over South Dade. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Barracudas.

Ashton Williams had a dynamite game for Coral Reef, putting up 21 points. That's the most points Williams has posted since back in December of 2023. Angel Santos was another key player, posting 11 points.

Meanwhile, TERRA Environmental waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 58-41.

Coral Reef better keep an eye on Nick Merlo. He was instrumental in TERRA Environmental's win, going 9 of 15 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and five boards. Merlo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Paul Fabian was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

TERRA Environmental has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Coral Reef, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coral Reef was able to grind out a solid win over TERRA Environmental in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 76-63. Does Coral Reef have another victory up their sleeve, or will TERRA Environmental turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
