North Springs is 0-8 against Kell since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Springs Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Kell Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
North Springs struggled with assists on Tuesday (Greater Atlanta Christian had 21 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North Springs lost to Greater Atlanta Christian on the road by a decisive 92-78 margin. While losing is never fun, North Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Greater Atlanta Christian is ranked 33rd).
North Springs might have lost, but man, Esmer Madesko was a machine: he scored 37 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Madesko has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kendall Heard, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Kell waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 14 straight wins but they left with 15. They blew past Cambridge 76-54. Kell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.
North Springs' loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Kell, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home.
North Springs was taken down by Kell 79-49 when the teams last played on January 2nd. Can North Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
