Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Bishop Manogue Miners walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-14 victory over McQueen. The win was familiar territory for Bishop Manogue who now have eight in a row.
Bishop Manogue had a senior duo take command as Philip Jacobs threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes and Cody Fleischmann rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Fleischmann is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played.
Another reason for the win was Bishop Manogue's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. McQueen's QB won't forget MARRIO WILLIAMS JR anytime soon given WILLIAMS JR sacked him 4.5 times.
Bishop Manogue's win was their fifth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.4 points per game. As for McQueen, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Bishop Manogue will be playing at home against Spanish Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Spanish Springs is ranked tenth, while Bishop Manogue is ranked sixth). McQueen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
