It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Torrey Pines Falcons can now relate to. They suffered a tough 21-0 loss at the hands of Madison on Friday.
Lukas Tu threw for 119 yards on 12 of 24 attempts. Dawson Washington was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Jake Sweeney rushed for 27 yards.
Jaylon Brown was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryley Parenteau, who threw for 108 yards while completing 75% of his passes.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Torrey Pines to a paltry 124 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Madison's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out three times before it was all said and done. In that department, Takori Davis was the leader with two sacks.
Torrey Pines' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Madison, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.
Torrey Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Madison is on the road again on Friday and play against St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (St. Augustine is ranked 61st, while Madison is ranked 72nd).
