O'Fallon scored a stunning upset when it knocked off East St. Louis, 10-6. At the time, the Flyers were ranked 19th in the state, while the Panthers were 76th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to O'Fallon, who took down 19th ranked East St. Louis, 10-6. Kentrail Moran ran for 122 yards during the win.
Belleville West's dynamic duo of Sherand Boyd and Brenden Saak proved to be unstoppable against East, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Boyd threw for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns and Saak had 95 yards receiving. Teantez Anthony helped Belleville West's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 74 yards.
The Maroons' dynamic duo of Boyd and Saak proved tough for the Lancers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Boyd put up the best numbers in passing as Belleville West bested East.
Moran was the best running back in Southwestern this week. Marque's Cooper also contributed to the rushing game with 24 yards on the ground.
He was 14-18 with 1 interception.
Saak was the best receiver in the league this week as Cameron Pettus' team beat Tim Funk's team.
On the heels of Camden Bauer and Moran, Brandon Joggerst's team has had great success on offense. Bauer leads the league in passing with 621 yards, while Moran has rushed for 484 yards this season. The Maroons' Saak leads the league in receiving yards with 299 on 14 catches.
Next week's game between the Panthers and Belleville West will feature an aerial matchup as Bauer tests his arm against Donald Driver's defensive ability.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when O'Fallon takes on the Maroons. As it stands, the Panthers are in third, while Belleville West is in second.
There should be lots of points scored when O'Fallon and the Maroons face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Panthers comes in having scored 91 this season, while Belleville West has scored 174. O'Fallon scored 10 points last week as it bested Darren Sunkett's team.
Granite City moved up to 220 from 265 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southwestern. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of besting Collinsville 21-20.
