Colorado Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from George Buyers, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Woldeyohannes, who scored 12 points along with 7 steals and 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Moffat County. Grand Junction Central found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 15 to 7 on offense.
Despite their loss, Grand Junction Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Blake Rooks, who scored 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. The game was Rooks' third in a row with at least ten points. Ryland Nostrand was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Colorado Academy's win lifted them to 3-0 while D'Evelyn's loss dropped them down to 1-4.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a blowout: Colorado Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 65 points per game. It's a different story for Grand Junction Central, though, as they've been averaging only 56 per game.
