The Avon Park Red Devils will face off against the Lake Placid Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lake Placid will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Avon Park extended their winning streak to 12 on Wednesday. The Red Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand Lake Gibson a 14-0 shutout.

Paisley Macias was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Avon Park got a massive performance out of Jalayna Cuencas, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Cuencas has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Henderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lake Placid walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 23-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.
Like Avon Park, Lake Placid also got a great game from a two-way player: Noah Molina. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Molina was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, Ava Ritacco was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Makenna Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Lake Placid kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Lake Placid's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Avon Park, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.
Lake Placid's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Avon Park has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game.
