The Mondovi Buffaloes will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Luther Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Mondovi knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Luther likes a good challenge.
Mondovi has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 30 points or more this season. They breezed by Prairie Farm at home to the tune of 69-39. Given Mondovi's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Prairie Farm is ranked 348th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-29, which was the final score in Luther's tilt against Aquinas last Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Luther in their matchups with Aquinas: they've now lost five in a row.
Mondovi's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42 points. As for Luther, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
