While it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, The Lancaster Golden Gales were not quite the Westerville North Warriors''s equal in the second half on Friday. Lancaster fell just short of Westerville North by a score of 31-28.
Westerville North got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayden Childress out in front who rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Childress' longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronald Jackson, who threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Lancaster now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Westerville North, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Lancaster does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westerville North will head out on the road to face off against Hilliard Bradley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hilliard Bradley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Westerville North in Ohio (Hilliard Bradley is ranked 12th, while Westerville North is ranked 118th).
