After a string of three wins, the Piketon Redstreaks's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were beaten by Unioto 57-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Piketon has scored all season.
Unioto was led to victory by Milee Smith and Mya Hamilton. Smith scored 20 points along with four steals, while Hamilton scored 24 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 15 games she's played. Amaris Betts was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and six steals.
Piketon's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Unioto, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.
Piketon will head out on the road to square off against Huntington at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Unioto, they will be playing at home against Westfall at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Westfall has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 22.
