Mansfield dropped their record down to 7-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 5-0 to the Norwood Pirates. The Lions were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Pirates' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Norwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

For Norwood's part, the result came thanks to Caden Black's shutout, as he gave up just six hits. Black has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carder Kelly was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
