The Veritas Christian Academy Warriors pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Brevard by a score of 59-56. Veritas Christian Academy lost against Brevard in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-35 score last time.
It was another big night for Tre Crite, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds for Brevard. The game was Crite's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eli Griffin, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Veritas Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Brevard, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Veritas Christian Academy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Robbinsville at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Robbinsville will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Brevard won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Smoky Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Smoky Mountain is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
