Two dominant players in Josh Rojas and Kane Wetovick are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles will stay at home for another game and welcome the Fullerton Warriors on January 25th. Hopefully Lutheran-Northeast is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fullerton in Nebraska (Lutheran-Northeast is ranked 50th, while Fullerton is ranked 200th).
Last Monday, Lutheran-Northeast was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-46 to Battle Creek.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rojas, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Ian Mcdoanld, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Fullerton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Elba, posting a 79-20 win at home. That looming 79-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Fullerton yet this season.
Lutheran-Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Fullerton, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Lutheran-Northeast beat Fullerton 52-41 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Does Lutheran-Northeast have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fullerton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
