Northeastern is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Knightstown is on a five-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will welcome the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Northeastern is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Union County 13-6 on Thursday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Northeastern saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan White, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Riley Isaacs was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Northeastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Knightstown never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Morristown as they made off with a 16-0 victory. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.
Carson Bonham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Bonham was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Mason Butler looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Travis Louks, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Bryce Marrow, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.
Northeastern's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Knightstown, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Northeastern has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Knightstown struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northeastern couldn't quite get it done against Knightstown in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
