The Floyd Central Highlanders's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They managed a 64-58 victory over Bloomington South. The victory was all the more spectacular given Floyd Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Bloomington South is ranked 105th).
It was another big night for Brock Conrad, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Stone, who scored 11 points.
Floyd Central's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Bloomington South, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Evansville Harrison the next time they take the court. Floyd Central will head out to face Evansville Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Bloomington South will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
