Carter hasn't had much luck against Summit recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:45 p.m.
Carter lost 10-4 to Aquinas last Friday.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Arroyo Valley a 20-0 shutout last Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the SkyHawks as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Sydney Clements made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arianna Munoz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Summit hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Carter now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Summit, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.
