A Season-Best Effort from Austin Gautier Leads Nelsonville-York over Vinton County
Nelsonville-York was led to victory by Austin Gautier, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Gautier rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Athens picked up their ninth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Alex Pero. Pero was dynamite, rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards.
Unfortunately for River Valley, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Pero. Pero rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry the last time he and the Raiders duked it out back in October of 2023.
