Berne Union is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Bishop Rosecrans a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Berne Union Rockets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops at 5:15 p.m. Berne Union has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Berne Union gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Fairfield Christian Academy by a score of 20-15. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Reese Besco made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kori Hoplite, who went 3-for-5 with five runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Williams, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Berne Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Fisher Catholic hit Bishop Rosecrans with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bishops came up short against the Irish, falling 13-3.
Kate Ward was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Bishop Rosecrans' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Berne Union, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Berne Union hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like Bishop Rosecrans struggles in that department as they've averaged .373. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
